On 23rd May, Whitesand school unveiled the second edition of The Sail, an anthology of student writing funded by the school and published by Feathers and Ink in Ibadan. The students of Whitesand created a great collection of fiction, essay, poetry and visual artwork under the editorial mentorship of Kola Tubosun and Chika Unigwe.
Whitesand school believes in securing the future of African writing through nuturing young literary talents from a tender age by providing literary platforms for students to share their work with a community of readers. To assemble the 2016 collection and select a winner for each category, the school management teamed up with Kola Tubosun and two other guest editors- Rotimi Babatunde and Dami Ajayi.
The anthology was given out for free to all the students and staff of the school,the parents of students whose work was featured in the volume were not left out. The Sail is a project worthy of emulation for all other schools because it helps to catch creative talents young and maximize their literary potentials.
